clip_image002St. Patrick’s Day is coming–get your green food coloring ready! Slashfood provides a history of St. Patrick’s Day food and Daily Fork examines contemporary Irish fare (hint: it’s not just “overly starchy potato dishes”). Susi’s Kochen und Backen Adventures makes glazed corned beef, which she says is tastier than the traditional boiled version. Notecook concocts a pretty light green punch. Food and Things whips up St. Patrick’s Day marshmallows (they’re not green, but are laced with cocoa and Irish whiskey). CakeSpy, who came up with a non-McDonald’s shamrock shake recipe last year, rounds up lots of great St. Patrick’s Day recipes from around the web, including chocolate stout crème brulee from Culinary Concoctions by Peabody. Food Thinkers tells you what to pair with Guinness and Food Blogga teaches you to make a beer ice cream float. (That beer should be organic, says Lighter Footstep, who also lists other ways to green your holiday.)

clip_image004In keeping with the beer theme (which is kind of the point of the holiday, come to think of it), Thoughtful Eating makes chocolate Guinness cupcakes—and Divine Party Concepts makes “green velvet cupcakes” with Irish whiskey cream cheese frosting.
