You can get two pieces of free chocolate lava crunch cake with your, uh, Valentine’s Day pizza from Domino’s on February 14 (via WalletPop). ShopSmart has tips on finding good wine for less. The Huffington Post lists ten Valentine’s Day gifts that give back. Mediaite has the New Yorker‘s best Valentine’s Day covers over the years. If trivia is your thing, Shrinkage is Good does Valentine’s Day by the numbers (every year, 180 million Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged–not including the packaged ones for kids’ classrooms!) Maybe you can DIY this year instead: Craftzine.com blog has ideas for not-too-hard-to-make Valentine’s Day cards.

Just don’t see the movie Valentine’s Day, which bloggers agree will make for a terrible date—“It’s a bad sign when Ashton Kutcher is the best thing about a movie,” says Get the Big Picture, while Movieline rates it “somewhere between a pink carnation from the boss and the off-label SweetTarts left out in the break room.” Instead, snuggle up with one of Indyposted’s timeless, off-the-beaten-path Valentine’s Day movies.
